Just wanted to sit at an (available) outside table with a morning coffee, instead encountered strange, borderline rude behavior from both the barista and hostsess. Not interested in going back.

Waited 60 minutes for the dismissive, rude, hostess to come out to seat us. We had to go in twice to check on our spot after she said we were next, and then proceeded to seat several others before us. No appologies, no consideration. She treated the recognizable locals well. Short, blonde gray haired Caucasian woman...shouldn't be dealing with people for a living. We walked away as she looked right through us as she called our name.

I could rave about this place for quite a while. Our waitress Megan was awesome, and they are not lying when they say their shrimp and grits are world famous... That dish was a spiritual experience, 9.9/10.

My favorite place that we ate at in New Orleans. Heather was so fantastic & I can't get over how good our food & drinks were! Highly recommend reservations when possible as the space is limited. Well worth the extra effort!

Yes! My kids love it their courtyard and always enjoy their food
I moved away 25 years ago, and there are a great many more things, besides just these grits, for which you shall indeed come to a horrid state of detoxification, with unremitting, hyper-foodie withdrawals for a long time, followed by a harrowing bout of P.A.W.S., (i.e. Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome), that is longer than your initial withdrawals by a couple orders of magnitude, and the only treatment is: "Goin' back home, ki-na-nea, to the land of beautiful queen, going back home to my baby, going back to New Orleans..."
