It's usually a decent experience there, but my total has been rounded up for the donations without them asking me multiple times. Its usually just a couple cents, but they didn't even ask me if I wanted to.. seems kinda rude to me to be honest.

Yes, you can take what you want and they usually go thro and take what they want and give back the rest.
Yes they are taking donations again.
When my wife and I donate, we always go to the back and drop our stuff off there. There's nobody ever back there when we do it.
I saw some of these types of items but like most thrift/used merchandise stores, inventory on the shelf varies greatly depending upon donations.

I don't really look in that area but I'm sure that they do as they have CDs and books and other things besides clothing.
They will take your bed, if it's in good condition. But make sure it's actually in good condition
