Honestly, you can probaly go to any check cashing center or even any Liquor store that cashes checks and get your check cashed no problem since it is a government check.Since u will be in the Pontiac area, go to the Liquor store on the corner of Martin Luther king blvd. and University rd. I had to cash a work check there recently because direct deposit was entered in too late by our financial manager. I had no trouble at all cashing a check and they only charged me 18$ on $1,900. Any place you go there will be a small fee even at a bank when not a customer. Hope this helps. good luck.
