Overall the visit was great, but the pool area was really crowded. When we checked in, we were told we had to reserve pool time. They told us they do this when they are fully booked out. Pool time was 3 hours. Within 2 hours, there was way too many people in the pool area and we ended up cutting our swim time short because of the noise & crowd.

Positive: The location is very good. Negative: Hotel definitely could use renovations. The pool area is disgusting. Chose this hotel for the pool with water slide and the pool is the size of a shoe box so we barely were able to use it because it was so busy there was no room in the pool. Area dirty.

Called ahead to confirm that my son could have a few friends come and use the pool during our stay for his bday party. At check in was informed no we could not have anyone in the room or pool that is not registered to the room. And that pool time was only available with a sign in ahead for pool time and for 2 hours. So party was switched to another place. Room cancelled. Will not stay here or support this business. Front desk did not believe I called ahead and was rude.

If I could give a zero rating for service, I would. First, let me say that the good things about the hotel was that it was clean and quiet. However, my friend and I had a very, very disappointing experience. I don't blame the front desk staff. I blame the management. Poor training and poor customer service. Our first night the hair dryer was broken. It took two calls and 30 minutes to get a replacement. The front desk clerk had forgotten about my first call. The third night we returned to the hotel to find water leaking out of the ceiling in our bathroom. I had a travel bag of toiletry items that got soaked and some damaged items. We were moved to a new room, however, no employee came to the room immediately to view the water dripping. We checked out the following morning and I asked about some type of compensation for the inconvenience and was told the manager wasn't in yet. I requested to be called. Seven hours later, I contacted the manager. I have never had a customer service employee talk to me in such a disrespectful tone. She stopped just short of calling me a liar and told me that the rate I paid was very low ($90/night) while the other guests were charged $180. The assumption being that I should be grateful with that. There are so many other hotels in Duluth. I am a regular visitor to the city each winter. I won't ever stay at this hotel again.
