There are many events throughout the summer, and you can find a lot of local businesses throughout the trail. Check out their website for more info: https://www.the606.org/
They are everywhere along the trail. Also the 606 website has a nice map.

California entrance is by Bloomington trail road
Outlets yes. They are hard to find though.
It starts on Ridgeway ave and Cortland ave ends at Ashland ave and Marshfield ave.
It's just shy of 3 miles long.
