Holiday Inn Express & Suites Austin North Central, an IHG Hotel

I had a somewhat ok stay here. The bed was hard for a holiday inn express. We book this brand for the bed comfort and the sheet quality… this one is not like the others. Low grade bed/bedding quality. The carpets were dirty. There were no hand towels and only 2 face towels and 2 towels. The level of noise we heard outside our room was terrible. It’s like the walls/doors had no insulation. We ended up in a handicap room and the shower drain flooded the floor. What realllllllly made this a negative stay was the fact that I couldn’t find my ID holder after our stay. I was 2 hours away in Houston when I realized and called the hotel no less than 20 times over a 6 hour period and let it ring for 2-3 min each time and no one answered. Ever. How? IHG couldn’t even reach them. I gave 2 stars because the lovely blonde girl that checked me in was very friendly.

Positive: The breakfast was super good. A variety of foods and fruits. They even have an automatic pancake maker . Negative: We booked for a king bed suite, and the first 2 days we were given a twin bed. We were very disappointed. The manager didn¿t switch our room until keeping asking. The third and the fourth day, we were in a King suite. But we got refunded for 1 night .

I stayed here for ONE night and of course the experience was terrible. I reserved a room a month before, and already paid. When I got there their it took me forever to check in with a lot of issues. Then I was charged again, but I thought it was just auth charge but a day later when I checked out, I was charged AGAIN. So after numerous attempts to contact the support and get help, I didn’t get the proper explanation of the charge. The general manager was USELESS, told me the charges would disappear from the account(like magic I guess) but they never did. They still haven’t returned my money!! I guess folks like to rob their customers. Huge scam. Never gonna stay in Holiday Inn 👎

We’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Express in another city & highly enjoyed it. So we booked this one for a recent stay in Austin. Not doing that again. There was a note in our room saying due to COVID restrictions daily cleaning of the room for overnight stays would not be done. But if we needed fresh towels or trash taken out to let the front desk know by 10 pm the night prior. First off let me say, if the concern is COVID, I would assume you’d WANT to be cleaning & sanitizing each room being used every single day. Not the opposite. But none the less, we informed the front desk we’d like to have fresh towels & bedding the next day. We were assured it would be taken care of. We had a work function we were attending and let me tell you, coming in after 17 hours in the Texas heat to a room that had neither fresh bedding or fresh towels was a HUGE disappointment. The toilet seat was not clean, the floor felt sticky and moist when you walked around barefoot. Just a huge disappointment. I felt grimy my entire stay. Will definitely try out other Holiday Inn Express locations, but will not return to this location.
