This is a historic hotel that has been a part of Austin for a long time. The location is great. It offers easy access to everything in downtown Austin. With that, comes the downside. If you have a car with you, expect to pay handsomely for them to valet your car. The hotel is old and shows it age through wear and tear and lack of updates. The walls are thin, so expect to hear the music and street noises well into the night. You also might hear the couple in the adjacent room arguing over hamburgers somewhere around 3am. The hotel has a lovely bar and lounge with access to the patios overlooking 7th and Congress. Roaring Fork shares the space and is convenient for hotel guests. With so many hotel options in Austin, I don't think I would stay here again.

I stayed here on 5/30/2022 My room was clean and had everything I needed plus the bathroom was huge! The bed was supposed to be a king but felt larger and was super comfy. I loved the second floor outdoor patio. It was quiet and comfortable, and the bar was also welcoming. The location couldn’t be better- just a few minutes walk from 6th Street, but far enough away to not hear it; every type of food you could want is within walking distance. The service was flawless, everyone was genuinely kind and I have no complaints.

Positive: Very beautiful ckassic hotel. The staff was welcoming and charming. I really loved the proximity to so many unique restaurants and clubs. We walked 1.2 miles both ways to a concert at Moody Center. Since we walk several times a week, it wasn't bad. Negative: The bar closed at midnight on a Sat after a big concert.

Positive: Beautiful historic hotel! The room was very comfortable with an excellent mattress. I loved the lighted magnifying mirrors in both the vanity area and at the sink. The location is perfect. Easy to walk to many shops and restaurants. Negative: The light from the clock next to the bed was way too bright.
