A beautiful resting place for Mom and Dad
Dennis Cowan
Terribly rushed and unprofessional ceremony with no time at the actual gravesite area to pay adequate respect. You must move on for the next group waiting in line behind you. It is an assembly line of the dead. Very sad and disrespectful.

Beautiful place paying tribute to our heroes.

Yes. There are wreaths you can buy from the cemetary. Call their office for details
The funeral home will can arrange that.
Only dependent children of the veteran can be buried there. Under 18 at time of veterans death or disabled with the state recognition at time of veterans death. They do not reserve any spaces, pre- registration just means they have your documents and you do not have to be verified at time of death. Which may put you on the schedule faster. Your wife is allowed when she dies, even if you are the second one to die. You sign documents saying you will be buried with her (on top) or she will be removed at your expense. If you die first , she will be allowed on top of you if she does not marry a non veteran. Those are the rules.
The visitors center has a book with names and locations. There's a computer on the wall like an ATM but it doesn't work most of the time.
No cost for veterans and spouse, just have your DD214 form. And proof of your resadence.
They usually do have one. I am not sure about this year because of the pandemic.
Go to visitor at entrance and you csn find what section he is in Have to look for post with section numbet that is not easy and then go by plack in ground. No grave stones
Probably and sometimes I see people stealing them! Smdh!
You can make your own or go through a private company.
Yes
Holiday wreaths/ blankets are allowed December 1st to January 15th.
Sorry I don't know. I would like to know also
When we called to make the arrangements,we were told that the person being buried had to live in NJ for a least half of his life. It's a state military cemetery and that was a requirement.
I would call them to get that answer. My Dad purchased the plots before he retired so when she passes away she will be buried with him.
Call the main number and press 4. They should be able to get you all the info. I know you need a dd214 and prof of residency in NJ.
No, florist usually make them or you can get them at a garden center. Both have a fee to place them. You can bring your own also. They will be removed by January 15
There is also a may on their website https://www.nj.gov/military/veterans/services/cemetery/documents/doyle-location-map.pdf I was there yesterday. Despite what the website says, visiting hours are all day Mon-Fri now. Also, the rest entrance is much easier to navigate thru than the main entrance, unless you are going with a funeral.
They have a building when you arrive has a list of everyone buried and the site number
Yes. We went Tuesday and it was open.
To maintain public health and safety, effective March 23, 2020, committal services and the rendering of military funeral honors (by military personnel or volunteer organizations) will be suspended until further notice. We will work to schedule committal services at a later date for those families that choose to continue with direct interment.
Yes, husbands and wives are buried in the same plot. Our loved one purchased a plot for himself and his wife many years ago. She passed first. When he passed recently there were no further expenses. You would need to check whether the plot was purchased for one or two people.
There is a main location on site where you can go in and speak with somebodyas long as you would legally married you can be buried with your spousemy mom was buried with my stepdad he was military she wasn't
To be sure I would call the cemetery but I believe you can.
Sure
The flat bronze marker usually takes about 4 to 8 weeks.
Typically services are 15 minutes. That includes military honors They have services every 1/2 hour. I am a chaplain there and it is pasted right on the podium.
If they are both veterans they are entitled to their own plot. If not they are buried one ontop of the other. - all the best, Thereal Donald
I believe so. My grandfather was Coast Guard and he is buried here. Check with the funeral home that you are looking to make arrangements with to clarify, and they will be able to tell you better. Thank you for your brother's service.
It is open to eligible New Jersey Veterans; residents who are members of the Armed Forces or reserve units on active duty at the time of death; certain dependents and certain merchant marines and civilians who have been awarded veteran's status
Sorry for your loss. There is a form that the funeral director gives you. It has the allowed spaces for you to fill in. Basically a short phrase.
I would like to have something placed on my fathers gravesite for every holiday. I was told I would need to find a local florist. If I find a florist to assist with this, is there someone who could place on my fathers burial site. I do not live close by. Just wish to know that someone would be able to place on his site
There is a directory at the entrance where you can look him up.
When you drive in you will see a visitors building where you can park and there is a way to locate your father's gave. Not sure if it's a computer or just a locator book.
It should be if not it just won't have the stone it will just have a metal marker.
BG Doyle is a state veterans cemetery and is open.
Dec first for wreaths and grave blankets
No unless you call uber or see if someone can take u
If u r a vet. Contact ur funeral director. He will get ur info required n process it 4 u. Dd214 main doc.
Yeah, it's not far (depending on how you define "far"). We rual folk think 5 miles is right around the corner. Jackson is a pretty wide area. Coming from Jackson PO, I'd estimate 30 mins.
Dawn to dark , info at public info center books, an info screen
No it will not since you are the spouse of a serviceman.
No, sections are by armed forces they served. Each plaque does has a space for a faith emblem.
They have an office and a phone number. I'm sure you could call and someone would be able to help you. Other than that you would have to visit the cemetery and look up the name on the grave registry.
Yes. They have small cases that can be filled with flowers but other things are often taken away. Easter and Xmas seem to be the only exceptions.
The funeral home can arrange that. My parents are buried there also.
