Fun place to visit. We have gone for their apple fest and Halloween events. It’s a fun journey to learn about farming at the various stages in history. Repeat visits might start to get old. The tractor rides take you back to a section that’s not really wheel chair/ walker friendly so something to consider if that’s a factor for your group.

Went for Applefest and it was a lot of fun. There was so much to do, that we didn’t get to do it all, but we enjoyed the day.

Took my 6 yr old grandson. It was enjoyable and the employees sis a great job providing information, however, they are short staffed, so you don't get as much out of the visit as you used to.

Are you in need of interpreter and or staff?

We're hiring a part time network administrator right now. You can see the up-to-date open positions on our website at https://www.lhf.org/employment/

When the website says Oct. 18 is the last tour day does that mean it's closed for the season or the last day for a person to take you around.

Living History Farms is a self-guided museum, so there aren't any official tours. The museum is closed to visitors from sometime in October until May, but there are other events, like historic dinners and enrichment programs, that are offered during this time. Hou should be able to learn more from their website!

There is a snack shop that was open when we where there on Saturday. But they also have picnic tables and areas that you can bring in your own lunches and have a picnic. We started on the back grounds and worked our way back so we could eat a picnic lunch it front.

I use a mobility scooter for long walks. Will I be able to use it? How does one get to the farms with a scooter. Can scooters use the trails? Hoping to bring my granddaughter there on Monday. Have visited before but it's been several years. Thx

Gary Sproat | Oct 10, 2018
Matthew Smith | Oct 10, 2018

In general, yes I would think so. There may be areas that aren't equipped to allow access via scooter, particularly the 2nd floor of period specific buildings. I'd recommend calling them and asking for specific details.
