Don’t let the name put you off! This is our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised. First time at a COE park in a very long time. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, staying through Friday. Great welcome at the gate! Our space is right on the river with a view across to the lock. Fun to watch the barges pass through. Very minor traffic noise from the bridge. Hearing the river noise is like hearing the surf at the beach—very relaxing. The spaces are all fairly long and MOST are level. Clean and well-maintained with no underbrush or weeds. The restrooms/showers are clean, and are restocked frequently, it appears. So many huge, beautiful trees to enjoy. Most sites will be very shady come summer. Highly recommend!

I've been told the rv resort out in toad sucks area aren't as nice as maumelle. I call BULLSH!T this park is so beautiful I want to stay the remainder of my time in Little Rock here! It's so much fun to explore it with my princess lady!

Very nice, clean campground! We were in site C10. Long double-wide site with patio area at the back, right on the river. Highly recommend this place!

Nice, clean campground. Private vault showers and lots of shade. Playgrounds for the kids and pavilions are available for day use. There's also a boat ramp.

I thought that they were joking myself when they first said To add Suck Arkansas Rec. Park so I googled it. Funny it's a real place, and why it's called Toad Suck is in the older days boats use to tie up there and go drink at the tavern when it was there years ago. Who would have thought!! 😂😂😂🤔💭
For those who don't know Toad Suck is a fun and beautiful little park and town just off of M-40 the Arkansas River. Clean and easy on and off access.
Another theory is there is a French phrase that means "narrowing of the river" that sounds like toad suck.

Toad Suck has been named for over 150 years. The myth is that the river boaters sat at the tavern drinking and sucked on the bottles until they swelled up like toads.

I stopped in on my way to Oklahoma this week. I seen the sign and turned around driving 25 miles out of my way just to check out what it was😂😂BEAUTIFUL and cool history behind it. Also wonderful view of home built and owned by cool man of history as well. Worth it FOR SURE!!

I don't know. But it's a great place to camp out and fish. Plus enjoy the sun setting while enjoying a nice camp fire. Then being able to set under the stars and then enjoying the sun rise with friends.

Still pretty messed up from the storm and it flooded. Not sure when it will open again
Water and electricity is the norm. No sewer but a dump site is at the park exit.
Bathrooms were badly damaged after record flooding from the Arkansas River. Park still CLOSED. 8 FEB 2020. City trying to secure funding.
Just find a place to park. Deal with it in the morning. We had a similar problem the first time we stayed. Usually $20 per night based site selection. Enjoy!
It is closed it was flooded back a few months ago so they haven't opened it back up yer
You should be able to go to recreation.com and see what type of sites they have and the cost. PLUS you can make your reservation in line.
If you are not cleaning up you will just be in the way is what we where told

Probably going to be a while before it reopens. After the flooding goes down, they will still need time to clean up the park. Bathrooms and other building may be damaged as well.

That would be a good idea so you can get a good site. This time of year you probably can find one without a resetvation.

Yes cats are allowed. There usually aren't many if any campers so tents aren't normally there but I'm certain that they are welcome.
We made our reservations on Recreation.gov I don't remember the price but I remember it was one of the cheapest we have stayed in... Really nice park, very friendly camp hosts ... Try calling again!
