They have buildings from the surrounding area on the property aswell as a path with a follow along battle story....if you read the plackards.... It's an amazing place and very clean. I couldn't go into the muesem cause I went on a Tuesday but it looked really cool.

This park is beautiful. I grew up here so the nostalgia is lovely. They keep improving in it. Lots of signs to read, history to learn, and a beautiful, hilly trail.

Had a great time. Fun historic place to visit with my homeschoolers.

You can walk all over the park. There are many thing's to see. It is a beautiful place.
Yes it is
There have been a number of sightings at night by professionals and everyday people alike. Most battlefields tend to have some activity.
I know the Latta barn can be rented for events, as well as the amphitheater, I am not sure about the rest of the buildings, the park staff would have the answer to that
No, all Arkansas State Park events were canceled for the rest of the year.
Not that I saw while we were there.
You cannot I believe. The parking spots are really small for that. You would have to get in touch with the park for more info on this.
Yes it's to the East of the main entrance
Thay are from local area. There are sine to each place explain all about each one.
It is approximately an hour depending on what part of Ft. Smith you're coming from. It's roughly about 60 miles from Ft. Smith and is WELL WORTH IT!! We have visited this park many times over the last 40 + years and raised our kids around there as well and they loved picking fresh apples from the apple trees!! Also, every other year in December (I believe) they do the civil war reenactment and that is so amazing and a lot to learn about our history and the Civil War!!! Hope you make it up this way to experience all of it yourself! ENJOY!!!
It's the first weekend in December on the anniversary of the battle, every other year. 2020 is the year.
There's a museum on the park property that has air conditioning but the majority is outdoors.
Start at the free museum and pick up the self-guided tour brochure. If you have kids, they can become Junior guides too.
The walking trail is long at least a mile. Very interesting, there are many Civil War relics, often a man in Civil War uniform around to discuss the battles intelligently. Great!
https://onlyinark.com/culture/arkansas-civil-war-history-9-must-visit-landmarks/ Try that. I have been to pea ridge and prairie grove.
Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it
Yes Prairie Grove Battlefield park is known for it's spooky encounters on nightly bike rides.
