Brought my puppy here for vaccines. They were rude and entirely unhelpful. They took him in the back and restrained him - he’s been to 4 vets now and this is the only place that has done this to him - then claimed he was aggressive. He’s a puppy and teething and they tied him down in a strange place without people he knew - what did they expect?? The vet tech was extremely rude when I was leaving and came back out to tell me “I need to train him better” even though we were there to get him vaccinated so we could take him to a training class. Nobody there offered any advice on what training to work on, they only insisted he needed to be neutered to help with his “aggression.” Now, he’s scared to let me touch him or hold him and backs away any time I put my hand out. They’ve traumatized my dog by holding him down to give him his shots during his visit

That's absolutely ridiculous if they don't allow you to be with your family member (furbaby) as they die! I used to live in NC where the vets are awesome there!!! Animal Hospital of North Asheville was rated #1, so professional, caring and so COMPASSIONATE!! I CANT SEEM TO FIND A VET HERE LIKE THEM! They have a beautiful dimly-lit room special for when you have to have one of your babies put down and you get to be right there with them and pet him and talk to him while they're leaving this world and going to the rainbow bridge after they pass the doctor quickly puts a precious little flower in between its paws and then they leave the room and give you and your family time Jim Warren and calm down and then they put it in a special box so you can take it home with you or they keep it if you have arranged other plans to have it cremated now that's the professional and only way it should ever be at any veterinary office so in my opinion the vets here need to take some lessons from them!
Not sure about xmas eve.
Have you tried using treats to lead her into a carrier. It may take a while but put down a few and walk away but stay where you can see her. When she eats the treats, tell her what a good girl she is several times. Keep doing this and when she's comfortable eating the treats right away and realizes you aren't trying to grab her, put the carrier on the floor and start putting treats leading up to it. After a few days, put the treats leading up to and inside the carrier. If she doesn't go in, don't try to coax her. Just leave the carrier open with the treats in it. She'll want them and will probably go get them when you're not around. If worst comes to worst, you should at least be able to get her close enough to the carrier to get her in there yourself. Good luck.
Yes they do, and I cannot say anything else that what the other person answered
You'd have to actually we the vet to get this question answered. There are so many different pills out there for pain and what the vet prescribes will depend on why your dog is having the pain. Mine has been on two different types, one for a congenital spine problem that acts up periodically and one for a sprained joint. Pain pills are prescription and there's really nothing I can think of that's over the counter that you could give him. I recommend you make an appointment at Advance Vet Care with Dr. Strickland. He's really a fabulous vet and he'll make sure your dog gets the right medication for the specific type of pain he's having.
