Always a forced stop when we drive to Sanford especially after my book addiction became stronger since the beginning of the pandemic. Didn't buy any books during this last visit because it was a rainy afternoon and just wanted to walk the store and get to a late lunch. But my recent purchase was a unique reminder of my younger days when I would spend hours reading Little Lulu in bed. As I began to go through the pages of this special edition it was refreshing to see how cartoons were so different back in the day and Lulu getting a spanking from her mom was the most natural thing in the world! The only star missing for this eclectic shop is just because the interior is usually too warm and muggy. Anything you want to bring to your reading universe you might find at Maya.

love the atmosphere, love the feeling of a small bookstore full of used books for good prices. The owner is also very sweet and makes you feel comfortable being there.

This place is such a treasure. We purposely plan our lunches for Willow then a trip to Maya. The owner is the sweetest and the books are amazing. I love this place!

My favorite used book store in all of Central Florida! I don't live close to Sanford, but I make it a habit to drive out there on occasion just for this store. Yvette is the nicest person with a fantastic taste for good reads, and she runs this shop herself. Her shop is beautiful. She has the largest section of used classics. And her prices are modest. I have discovered new authors because of this store. Please support Maya's! I never want it to close :)

They require masks and reasonable high touch surfaces are cleaned regularly through the day. Store is large so it is easy to keep the 6 ft distance Handsanitizer is also available at the register.
