Omg these people never answer the phone u call all day and get put on hold or hung up on I don't understand why it takes a month for a social security card and they're response time is ridiculous. When I did get someone they are not nice told me it's a backup due to COVID so you just got to wait okay but a month for something that normally took a few days.

STAFF IS ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT CLIENTS!!! They use the security person manning the door to communicate to clients at door! They are lazy!!! Why are you not seeing clients and scheduling regular appointments??? Why are people not allowed to just come in to your office??? HOW LONG WILL YOU USE COVID-19 AS AN EXCUSE!?!? The rest of the world is moving on!!! If you are too afraid to properly do your job GET OUT OF THE WAY and let someone competent take over!!! Leadership/Management needs to get a hold of this situation and fix it!!!! This is a public service AND THIS SUFFOLK OFFICE IS FAILING MISERABLY!!! Phone system is DEFICIENT! The system will automatically disconnect the phone, forcing people to have to call back repeatedly to speak with a live agent/representative. The system is also set up in a way that it will make beeping sounds, making customers wonder if they are still on hold to speak with someone...all this while holding for unreasonable hold times! FIX YOUR PHONE SYSTEM!!! You are the Social Security Administration!!! The staff is working from home (at least that is the excuse), which may be causing the issues. WHY ARE PEOPLE WORKING FROM HOME AND GIVING CUSTOMERS SUBSTANDARD SERVICE?!? Sydra Monroe was helpful until she got tired and probably had to go attend to personal business (since she was working from home) and told me that she was not able to help anymore and to call back! Call back for what?!? I already have you on the phone! She practically hung up on me, regardless if I had further questions or not. Hope her personal appointment went well. In case anyone wants to verify, this happened on Thursday, 17 March 2022, she had to run off and hung up the phone at approximately 2 :45PM, when she was supposed to be assisting me. Service is disappointing and from the other online reviews, it seems like the staff is not customer service oriented and in serious need of new management!

Everything they said about this office is true they are great!!! We spoke with Mr. Pearson and he clarified our situation and solved our problem which first looked like a disaster . He was very kind and caring and I am quite grateful to have been given the opportunity to get him on the phone Five Plus stars!!!!!

I have tried to get ahold of them on 4 separate occasions. I have tried different days of the week and different times. After sitting on hold for 15 minutes each time, the system hangs up on me. The website says the office is closed to the public, so if they can’t be reached by phone either, what exactly are they doing? I would love information on how to get business handled at this “office”. Update: They may not answer the door or the phone however, I received my Social Security card within 3 weeks of mailing the form to them. Considering some locations take 3+ months, I would like to give them credit where it’s due. But please, fix the phone situation…

What is the telephone number for the Suffolk, VA SSA
You should probably contact the Western Tidewater Community Services Board and the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS). Check into their Medicaid Waiver programs for Consumer Directed care if the individual qualifies as needing NF (nursing facility) level of care.
If u receive SSI, but did not work long enough throughout your time of being employed,, your wife may not be eligible for benefits.
I did that. I filled out the card. Refused the part b, had a witness sign the card. All they did was send me a new card but still on part b. No explanation. No acknowledgment of the card I sent back. I am insured under by wife's employer and do not need part b at this time. I cannot afford the additional payment. I don't know what do to. I've contacted SS office and nothing happens., I'm about to seek legal advice.

No. I just went. But they only let 11 people in at a time for social distance. I got there 10am on Monday. Only waited a few minutes outside. I had 10 numbers ahead of me. It went pretty quickly. Depends on what business everyone has to do.
You can call and check. When I went up there a week or two ago they told me they were closed to the public
Medicaid is handled by the State Public Assistance Dept, not SSA.
Call 1-800-772-1213 to discuss specifics of your case.

Call 1-800-772-1213 and ask. Could be an overpayment recovery, Court ordered garnishment or even a voluntary tax withholding you requested.
No. If you take your retirement benefit at age 63 it is permanently reduced.
Prisons will normally notify SSA and benefits should stop while in jail. But to avoid overpayments and future problems prisoner should also advise SSA of their incarceration.
