Wheeled in with some friends for a few nights. Our group never winched or had to pull each other out. But we saw other groups pulled each other out. Better to bring recovery gears. Be mindful for the brand of recovery equipment because using recovery gears is not a joke, it's very dangerous so choose a high quality brand. Like miolle recovery brand, for me that brand is proven and tested. A spotter is definitely needed. Completed the trail in 2 days, camped at Buck Island one night.

It's sad all the burn land over in the El Dorado Something needs to be done

We were there, supporting the control of a forest fire. They are very beautiful places, which are affected by this terrible phenomenon.

Current snow levels are dismal. The resorts make their own "snow" but elsewhere, lower elevations are practically dry. I was up there the last weekend in January. This warm stretch isn't going to help and if there is a big storm, expect it to be busy since everyone in the Bay will be there (like last weekend).
Yes
No, looks like no hunting this season
Here's a link to the rules for target shooting in El Dorado. Basically, know where you are, and what you're shooting at. Shoot paper targets into dirt, no shooting trees. Don't leave behind casings or broken glass, they do fine heavily for that. https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/eldorado/recreation/otheractivities/?recid=71008&actid=106
When they release them. You can get them at USFS @ 100 Forni Rd. Placerville. I was also told you could get them online when they open the season up.
in The 2 parks that we stopped at there was no parking fee but I'm sure that there will be in some of the bigger parks
I'm not sure but I imagine if that area is pork cold, but check the time and if was freezing.
I'm at 3300 feet and it's raining. No snow, it may be snowing at higher elevations.
No
Hey Dan, they have a person on the payroll who is a "Public Info.Officer" a couple of clicks on with a mouse ? Hardly a fiscal impact. What is the purpose of the website if not accurate. Especially in this age of "Fake News" our President talks about. Go ahead drive over to Ellis Rd. Yourself for a look see.
No cell coverage
The best place to get current info is from the district offices. The phone numbers are on the left column of the website.
With a permit, within designated campground, unless a fire restriction is issued, then no.
