Great campground. We loved our stay here. Camp manager had the wood and offered a ton of information. Small but step hike to a waterfall right off the campground. Watch out lots of spiders by the water and not a lot of space to sit at the bottom of the hike. recommend you take a snack and water. we loved the stay here and will be returning. make sure to bring your own water.

Great to be away from it all. Ranger was really helpful and full of good advice.

Im not sure about check in and check out times, I checked in at 7pm and checked out at 6am and its first come first serve. What I can tell you is that its a two hour drive from the top of cherry lake rd to the camp ground. Cherry lake road is a windy road with steep decline and incline that will tax your brakes and your car engine. If youre planning to go to yosemite valley it will take you approx 4hrs from the campground. However, if youre planning to go to cherry lake campground and not leaving the campground except to enjoy the lake then this is a great place to stay. Another thing to note is that you have no view of the lake from the campgrounds you have to go like 2 miles to get to the bridge to see the lake and then I never figured out how to actually go to the lake.
Only because the road has alot of curves for 24 miles very slow going and up hill all the way so coming back your brakes will be tested. Great lake to camp ontherr are 2 roads to the lake highway 4 and 120 i would take the highway 120 route less curves and shorter
They have no water at camp sites. The water available is from single spout set up. No hoses can be connected. We were there 7/5-7/10 2020. Pretty place
To my knowledge there are no state forest leash laws in a national forest. Most dogs aren't allowed on public trails if there is protected wildlife or plant life along the trail. I doubt anyone will be out there to site you either way.
Supposedly there are some bears near the area but when I went I didn't see any. I saw some deers and other animals though
Yes kayaks are allowed and saw a few wave runners last month.
There are no huckups there and the nearest dump station is in Groveland or I have heard that the casino near senora might have a dump station.
You can book online, but there are 40+ sites. You'll have a site when you show up.
