Did a great job working with my anxious Beagle & even got on the floor to examine her!

Dr. Thomas is always wonderful and so kind, as is Britney who was her vet tech today. My kitty was NOT a happy camper and they were so patient with him, especially the techs Cara and Tera, who had the difficult task of trying to draw blood from him. I've been going to Beechwold Vet and Dr. Thomas for many years and they've always been great to me and my kitties.

Dr Thomas and Britney are the absolute best. They always are responsive and accommodating. Jack is in excellent care and I trust them with his life!

Questions & Answers

My late mom's long time groomer recently fired our elderly dog Daisy because she doesn't stand up like she is supposed to when being groomed. Daisy is a female Lhasa apso and can be a little grumpy. Any recommendations for a patient, kind groomer?

I don't know, but have you hired an animal behaviorist, and tried to figure out why your dog is barking so much? It likely is something that can be solved or at least reduced by addressing the triggering factors, and I really hope you'll reconsider getting surgery. Debarking involves damaging or removing a dog's vocal cords. It can go wrong and cause permanent breathing problems, it's really painful for the animal, and barking is part of how dogs communicate with us. A dog that can't vocalize is potentially more dangerous, and more in danger, because they can't give as many warning signals that humans can understand. There are some great animal behaviorists working in the Columbus area. Please call around and see if they can help you. Personally, one of my dogs is in one on one training at All Paws and I love it, but you'd have to ask if they address this type of issue, and depending on what's triggering it a home behavioral consultant might be best.
