Toured facility and spoke with the owner. We made reservations for a stay in July with our new 5th wheel. Very hospitable and friendly with well maintained facilities. Smooth gravel roadways with back-in sites. Pool, indoor and outdoor recreational areas are very well groomed, but some building/facilities look a bit dated but well maintained. the entire campground is spotlessly clean. I'll update this review after my 5 night stay. Update: We stayed here for 5 nights while my grandson was at a nearby day camp. We have a 35 foot 5th wheel and Silverado dually. Our site was a bite challenging to back into as a new RVer, but the owner expertly guided me into the site. Our site was nicely shaded and had full hook-ups with 30Amp electric. We are boaters so managing the 30 amp electrical service was no issue (i.e, no using the AC and microwave simultaneously). Sites with 50amp service are available, but we liked this location near the pool area so the 30 amp service was our choice and no issue. A small store is located in the office cottage for soda, ice, firewood and some camping items. Sports equipment such as miniature golf clubs is available for borrowing at the office. My grandson enjoyed the playground, pool, miniature golf and catching frogs at the brook. The indoor recreation room / arcade is dated with some older arcade games, pool table and air hockey. It was functional and fun for the kids. There's a change machine available for quarters. The pool area is comfortable and clean with a well maintained pool. We found the pool area locked at 6:30PM with the office closed, so we couldn't take a swim that hot evening. This is a safety consideration to keep kids from the pool area, so we were understanding. The owners are accommodating, so I'm sure they would unlock the gate if they were around. There is a strict 5 mph speed limit with numerous stop and speed limit signs along the roadways. Although some might find this a bit strict, kudos to the owners for placing campsite safety as a top priority. The campground rules, such as the restriction for using outside firewood and quiet times are typical of other facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Brook N Wood and look forward to our next visit down the road.

Quiet. No more cable. All WiFi enabled, so be prepared if you have an RV and don't have smart TV's. They are a bit, well.........direct about use of wood. Do not bring in your own wood, though NYS does allow, not this campground! The pool is nice, though small and a tad rustic. It's clean. Yes. I said it. Clean. The store is smallish and most camp items are hard to come by. Be prepared. Ice cream, candy and little things here and there. Not much if you are looking for emergency items. The owners like to keep the campground smallish, simple, quiet and low key. Dogs are welcome. Kids will have fun exploring the woods, streams and grounds. We enjoy the simplicity of this place. The calm, quiet and relaxed feel. I'd say we are very lucky to have what we have here. And blessed with great, friendly neighbors.

If your looking for a quite place stuck in the 70's this is it. Dont fall for clever wording and old photos and a site map that has stuff listed that no longer there or you can't get to. Came in for a weekend and tried to give it a go. Sites are nice and big mostly full hook up, but if you want a tent/pop up site forget the bridge is closed off so you can't get to them. Pool was maybe heated and concrete was all in poor condition...watch your step. Rec hall closed for some reason still using the covid excuse for a rec hall older than me. But the worst was we had over some ppl and I went up and paid for them she did say we had to park in a different location I was like ok. Walked back over and left the car where it's was on a empty site in a empty camper row. She comes by like and hour later and asked us to move the car only one per site and it wasn't on ours. Ok I'm fine with that but there was literally no one else around us for 20 site's but as I looked around all the seasonally had two cars on their sites. So why single us out in a place that was a ghost town. And Holy rule book did they have must have been half a page of some odd and out of date rules. Which she probably will enforce on new comers. Needless to say I won't be back nor would I every recommend this place. Save your money and head somewhere else.
