If I could give zero stars I would. I have had multiple issues with them stating my doctor's office is coding things wrong, and they are not covering basic yearly physical blood draws, etc... I call the customer service and they send me on a wild goose chase calling my doctor's office and quest. Then they send a summary stating my chiropractor is out of network, but my chiropractor states they are in network and the batches they send to insurance are getting mixed coverage (some are being denied, others are accepted). Highmark BCBS of WNY is an absolute mess since the takeover and I have had nothing but issues. It is criminal what is happening and I am afraid to go to the doctor's now. I've spoken to others, and the same things are happening to them. It is a shame because I NEVER had issues prior to Highmark taking over. It is a shame what has happened to this company.

Terrible!!! Have been trying to get clarification on a $200 charge for a holter monitor from the company that provided the monitor. They say Highmark said it is because they are out of network. Cardiologist's office says they were assured the charge would be not more than $25. CANNOT get an answer from Highmark BCBS! So far, three customer service representatives told me they would look into this and call me back. Hasn't happened....... Shame on them!

Absolutely the worst. No customer service.

BCBS was the best insurance until Highmark took over. Nothing was supposed to change, but prescription co-pays went up, therapudic co-pays went up, and the processing time for hospital stays takes months. Customer service is lacking. They changed therapudic blood draws to an outpatient surgery with a $100 copay instead of $15 even though nothing was supposed to change. Highmark ruined BCBS of WNY.

Just terrible customer service. On hold now. Doesn’t even tell you approx wait time or give you a call back option.
The best and probably quickest way to get an answer to this is to call the customer service number on the back of your BlueCross ID card. They're very helpful!
