Good off the road place, full hook up with pull throughs. Lots of little cabins, little grass area, friendly host!

The cabins are vintage/rustic so don't expect glamping. The site is next to a pine forest and smells very good. Kinda small, everything is clean. Good base for exploring the surrounding area.

This small campground is far enough away from the main highway so you don't hear any traffic. The sites are spacious and clean. There are picnic tables and even chairs scattered around for seating. The sites are nested in trees for a true camping experience. It is very quiet, we sat outside and listened to the birds and even got to see deer come down from the mountain. The pads are gravel and pretty level. The host is very nice and accommodating. The store has a few supplies should you need something.

My family and I stayed at Hawk's Nest over the Labor Day weekend this year. We were greeted warmly by the owner and personally shown to our cabin and RV site. The owner completed the hook up and ensured that the cabin was to our satisfaction before leaving us to settle in. Later that evening we were welcomed to join in a camp fire with the owners, their family and other guests of the park. The camp fire was a huge success and we all enjoyed some smores. The cabin we stayed in was clean, the beds comfortable and had everything you would need to cook meals. Did not have a microwave but hey just reheat on the stove, it's part of the camping adventure. The bathroom amenities were clean and the water wonderfully hot on a cold mountain morning. Can't say enough about the wonderful hospitality of the owner and his family, always checking in to make sure that your stay is going well and asking if can provide anything. The park was great for kids to play safely in the playground or ride their bikes around without needing to be on constant alert. Would very much recommend this camp ground to anyone looking to get away from everyday life but still have the comforts of home. Looking forward to planning another family vacation there. Thanks for hosting our weekend.
