The place to put a big boat on Jordan Lake.

Gets points for being the only 24-hour launch on the lake, but loses a star for being in such close proximity to a motorized ramp. Depending on the time you go, you may have to get through packs of PWCs doing tricks and motorized boats that may not see you in a kayak. Great parking, and soft sand that's kind on fiberglass hulls.

Looked like they were closed this am, water was too high. I go back by around 6:45 this afternoon - if it's open for some reason I will repost.
When the water level drops below 225 ft I believe. With all the flooding downstream on the Cape Fear river they are probably not in a hurry to open the dam. Poe's Ridge ramp is probably open as it is the corps of engineers ramp and can handle the highest water levels. Although its not free.
