I've been seeing doctors at Texas Orthopedics for years, and have always been pleased the doctors and PAs. I believe they care about my condition and want the best for me. That's why today's events were even more awful. Last week they offered me a procedure that might alleviate my constant pain. I didn't ask for this procedure - I never even knew it existed - but they offered it, and I broke into tears at the idea of perhaps finding relief. We scheduled the procedure and today, 10 days later, they called and told me that, due to other medical conditions, I am not eligible to have the procedure in their surgery center and they simply won't do it in the hospital. And, again, I cried, but for an entirely different reason. Texas Orthopedics gave me hope, then cruelly ripped it away. I am heartbroken that they offered me relief and then rescinded that offer, I am bewildered that they would push me off to a pain management clinic as if to simply shrug off any responsibility for my continued care, and I am angry that they would recruit someone without an ounce of compassion or kindness - someone I've never met and who has no investment in my health - to break the news to me. Mostly, though, I'm just in pain.

Often no referral is needed however every plan is different so you will have to check your individual plan with your insurance company. Most plans do not require a referral to see an orthopedic surgeon. Texas Orthopedics physicians are covered under most mayor insurance plans. Hope this helps.
