My daughter-in-law is the supervisor of the shelter. I visited the facility and was so impressed by the caring workers and volunteers. And the dogs and cats seemed well-cared for and happy!

I fell in love with a dog on Monday and told the staff member that I would like to adopt her. She told me as long as I brought my other dog in to meet her then I could. So I told the staff member that I would bring my dog in the day after and it sounded like it was a done deal. Today I came back with my dog to introduce them but found out that the dog I wanted was adopted that morning even though I told the staff member the day before that I wanted her and was going to adopt her. Very unprofessional, if you plan on adopting a dog and already have one at home I would bring them with you on your first visit.

We found our girl here a few days ago. They were the nicest people and so helpful! You can tell they care about the animals and take very good care of them. Auri (formerly Libra) was sick for a while and they made sure we knew before adopting her. They are thorough, kind, and actually care about the animals. Definitely the place to look for your new family member!

Its a no kill shelter
They do, but they tend to be special events. They seem to do one or two per year. I can't recall the last one, so they may be having one coming up. Keep an eye out!
You can tell the staff what you're looking for and they can help you find a good fit. They're very knowledgeable and spend a lot of time with these dogs, so they'll know if there's one that seems to be what you're looking for.
I believe you have to be a resident of Montgomery County, VA. Hope that helps answer your question.
