At the mouth of mid-Wharton wanderings this ancient manor sits aside Rt 206; surely a stark contrast to the dusty horse road that came through these lands back when it was originally homesteaded. A landmark and a place with the aura and omens of our forefathers' original settlement of this land.

Was all ready to get some information on the area and discovered that it is closed. No explanation, just a sign on the door stating to go to Batsto instead. Good thing I didn't need a camping permit. Our tax dollars at work 🙄.

Great little place, I was there on a Sunday and the mansion was closed. Was able to walk around and take some pictures.

There is a huge wildfire. Around 11,000 acres are burning right now.
As mentioned above, it's the off-season now so the amenities are closed. Hiking and fishing are still two big draws to the park in the fall.
