Thank you to the Miller family for sharing their amazing story. My cousin and I are researching our family roots. Maybe one day we can be blessed to at least find where our ancestors were. I encourage everybody to look at and follow the trails of your ancestors. You'd be surprised where they lead you. Your story has made my heart glad and touched my soul and my spirit. Continued blessings.

inspirational... I hope the family is able to own/purchase the land where the unmarked cemetery is... Would be cool to have a giant shelter placed over the "slave house" to protect it from the elements and any falling limbs.... Best wishes to the entire family/extended family.

WOW! This is an amazing story! I was glued to the TV so I wouldn't miss a second of it! We never really know what direction our life is going to take us, but it's always nice when it directs us, RIGHT BACK HOME! Fred, I would love for 60 minutes to do a future segment on you. I would love to hear what else the land and walls have uncovered about your family.

Questions & Answers

I just saw your story on 60 Minutes and it moved me. Is there a way to donate some money for the preservation of the former slave quarters, cemetery, etc.?

As I stated in the episode, I purchased the property in order to have a place for large family gatherings. Not knowing I had purchased so much more. Thank you very much for watching and thank you for your question.. Best wishes, Fred Miller

I don’t know how either, but thank you for your response. I’ve tried to reach someone at the Sharswood but cannot get a response.
