It was amazing! I definitely recommend going when it's cooler but all of the staff there were amazing! It was a great experience. If you go tho don't forget tools like buckets and shovels!

My husband and I had such a great time! This was our second mine to dig in (our first time to dig was at Twin Creek on 4/26/22) and we spent 3 days digging here - 4/28 - 4/30/22! The first 2 days we dug in the Crystal Forest, dug all day and found great crystals. Our last day we dug in the Phantom Mine all day and that was AMAZING!!! The staff is super friendly and so helpful, they do all they can to make sure each person had the best experience possible!! This is one of our best vacations we've taken, and we haven't vacationed in 2 years due to the pandemic. I can't say enough great things about this place!! We can't wait to come back and do some more digging!! Glad we're only 3.5 hours away!! We didn't get any pics while at the mine, but will take pics once we get the crystals cleaned up!! Hands down, best hospitality of anywhere we've been in a long time, even pre-pandemic. They made us feel like family. Can't wait to come back and spend more time in the mine!

I am writing this review based on the incredible trip my husband and I took in September 2021, this was our first trip to Arkansas. Wegner Quartz Crystal Mines is an awesome place to visit. The Wegner has some of the most friendly people. I found it interesting that the price they charged for this visit was a 9 frequency... $18 for 2 hours. During our visit my husband and I both found some beautiful clear quartz crystals. We also visited the Wegner gift shop which has an incredible selection. We purchased some beautiful items there during our visit. Thanks so much Wegner Quartz Crystal Mines for the amazing visit‼️ ❤ We are hoping to see you again soon‼️

COOL place for rock hounds. People working here are wonderful. Bring a bucket, garden 3 prong tool, water cooler, rock hammer might be useful, hat/sunscreen and bug spray needed. Foam knee pad was very useful and helped on the knees. Little hand towel for wiping sweat off. Also pack a lunch. This place not for those with trouble walking, need good shoes that cover your toes. Rocks are sharp. Crazy people would wear sandels here and i did see that and they had cuts at no fault than their own.

What day do they dump the tailings
For the Crystal Forest trip it is $18.00 per person per trip. We have lots of options, for more details check out our website at www.wegnercrystalmines.com.
We have amethyst geodes for sale at the shop. But there are no mines in Arkansas with them.
I didn't really bring a change of clothes, but you certainly can. They supply you with a pail and a pick to dig up the crystals, but you can always bring a tool that you think will make it easier. My boyfriend used his pocket knife a lot. Make sure to bring a ton of water, and pack a lunch :) the people that work here are all really nice and helpful--you're going to have fun!
Either
No. Just show up and have fun
You just have to sign up, as long as they have 10 people total you're good to go!
This place is. They have a field of plowings in which the spread out the tails. Lots of smalls. Easy picking. The other place i think had the word sweet in the name is not kid friendly, imo.
I feel bad you even had to ask. All the folks we met at Wegner during our trip seemed very nice. We were there 2 days and none of the employees gave me the vibe that they might be non accepting. We had a lot of fun. We have been cleaning crystals and making craft items for 2 weeks after.
20 bucks for only 2 hours of dig time is hardly fair, when other mines charge 10 or 20 per adult fir a whole day of dig time...6 hrs of dig time is 60 bucks per adult at Wegners.
They have an Excellent Rockshop on site in a beautiful barn !!
We took several buckets and filed them all. We took our own but you can rent from them....
I believe they give you a ride up to the mine. Depends on the package that you purchase. We did the tailing one, which you drive up to and you just dig for stones in a pile of red dirt that's been set up already The mine one I believe they take you up to the mine in a truck and drop you off.
No, they are separate. Sometimes they do a discount.
Usually we refresh the tailings weekly. Depending on the weather. You can always call and check when the last time we refreshed the tailings.
I keep them, gift them, or use pieces for jewelery. A lot of people sell them as well.
Call them, or make an appointment to go in and talk to someone.
I think so but u would want to make sure it hasn't had recent heavy rain due to difficulty getting there/washouts.
I was there a couple days ago and we had 2 hours. I brought back a lot in that amount of time
Yes. Paved road . Large parking area. Circle drive to exit.. . You will like it here.
Clear quartz crystals
Yes, they allow any animals that are friendly!
I have a different experience. We just went to Wegner last week and dug in their tailings spot. It was very affordable, I think $54 total for six of us. We were there from 8:45 until 2:30 when the toddler had had enough. We literally found dozens and dozens of quartz, actual crystals ranging from pinky size to 2" wide to clusters of crystals. We were floored! It was like a treasure hunt! We would've stayed until they close up at 4:00 and will definitely go back in the future. 👍🏻 Super good experience!
They are pretty expensive... There are rock shops all along the way selling the same crystals for better prices!
Going on one of the 2 mine trips is best. 100 times better than tailings. In 2 hrs (Crystal Mine) you'll find more than you would 2 weeks in the tailings. Other mine (Phantom) is all day Sluice was ok, but just super short - basically just washing sand off rocks - but rocks were cool.
Hi , thanks for the question. Weather looks okay for the next few days. However our policy is that we transport to the mine until lightning . Then we return. Rain is a natural asset to miners as it wash off ceystals for better visibility.
They go out every 2 hours starting at 9:00 I think
I paid with a credit card. Also when you check in, be sure to have your license plate number for paperwork. Theres not a sign or anything to tell people.
No
I dont think they buy them back unless they are one of a kind and superb quality. But I doubt they buy them since they own the mine.
Yes, we have 2 crystal mines on our property. For more information you can visit www.wegnercrystalmines.com or call 870-867-2309.
There is a field area you can do that doesn't require riding a truck or heavy digging. You can also sit and go through bags with gemstones and diamonds. Have fun!
If it were me i would have whoever is in the wc off to the side, maybe by the picnic table. This is the furrows dig area. Then lay down some plastic and have someone bring 5 gal buckets of material to them. You could also do this up next to the furrow area on the ground or bring your own table. No reason why the wc bound person cant enjoy.
