Enjoyed staying here at cabin 2. Saw deer many times. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I would have liked WiFi.

What a hidden gem!!! Spent 4 days/3 nights @ Cabins 1-3 and this place is 100% on our list to return too asap. Completely secluded with great river access via short walking trail or small road by cabin 3. Kids had tons of open space to ride bikes, play games, & most enjoyable was the river & pebble/rock river bank(assume it may differ with water levels). Each cabin had different pros but cabin 1 is biggest, cabin 3 is smallest yet newest & cabin 2 is perfectly in between. Fishing, kayaking(bring your own or ask about the canoe maybe?), bird watching, outdoor games are just a few things to do here.

We loved this place. The cabin was roomy for my husband and I and our two teenage grandkids. The Ouachita River was right behind the cabin and there was a trail down to it. We caught fish, went on a float trip and the grandkids even went swimming even though the water was very cold. There was a grill, a fire pit and picnic table at the back of the house. They also have a washer and dryer you can use at no charge. This was definitely a 10 out of 10 and we will definitely be back. Thank you Alan for everything!

04/25-28/2019 I enjoyed my stay at Cabin 4, as did the other 5 members of my family. The cabin was clean, very roomy, and easy to get to. As we went to the nearby Twin Creeks Crystal mine and found a decent amount of Quartz crystals, the wash table in back of the cabin was much appreciated! Alan (the owner) was very friendly and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend High Shoals cabins to anyone wanting to vacation in the area, and I'd definitely recommend Cabin 4 for families. Thank you Alan!
