It was a lot of fun, I hadn't been to the zoo in ages and decided to go. They give you a map at the entrance and you can follow your own tour, or you can follow the tour signs which will lead you around the world exhibits. I chose the latter and had a wonderful time. The kids were laughing and playing, they have little water park stops so the kids can run through the sprinklers. There is a petting zoo as well as a place where you can feed the giraffes. Overall it was a great experience and I am excited to go back soon.

We love Dickerson Park Zoo. The re-imagined children's waterplay area is a hit with our family. We've been going to this zoo for over 10 years and seen expanded exhibits, experienced community outreach, and attended education classes and birthday parties. We enjoy riding the train each time we visit. For our family, the yearly passes are a great investment, and connect to a network of zoos all over the USA, perfect for family vacations. We are extremely satisfied with Dickerson Park Zoo and will continue to support them.

We did her annual Mother's Day trip to the zoo and once again it was incredible. There was plenty of animals out and active and the personnel was handy and were spread throughout the zoo. Definitely love our Dickerson Park zoo

The zoo takes about 3 hours to casually stroll through. The exhibit have sufficient space and almost all have multiple viewing points to get different angles on the animals. Train tickets are $2 and give you two times around a pond. Entrance costs $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for kids. Some of the signs are new, others need a good power washing. The park was exceptionally clean. Only 2 exhibits were closed; the others had visible animals - nothing like watching tigers and cheetahs prowl, wolves run, and tortoises well... do what they do. This is a great way to spend the day, picnic outside, and enjoy animals from across the globe.

The adult price is $14. The price for seniors is discounted to $11.
Yes, it's the usual 10% with a military i.d. Though the price of tickets are low enough that it is basically pointless to use it unless you are National Guard and trying to get a reaction out of people ;). P.S. Go active. Sincerely, A fellow soldier.
Didnt you read the hours to the site your question is posted on
Thank you, I ended up doing that after I posted that question! :)
We care for two orphaned bears. Unless the hats are made out of fruit and edible, no thank you. No, thank you. That was a joke. Food source and prep is for the animals is very selective and monitored.
The scooters are $25.. Wheel chairs are free if I am not mistaken
Yes the gift shop is open.
An adult walking it seeing the animals an hour, but reading everything I would say 2 hours. Then factor in the pace of children. I usually spend 1.5 to 2 hours with my son here

Yes while inside all their buildings (including restrooms), but no while outside on their walking paths.
You are not allowed to bring in large coolers and picnic lunches. There is a park with covered pavilions and playground equipment just on the other side of the parking lot that you can use. We've done that a few times and easily gotten back inside with the receipt from that day. That said, I had a few snacks when my child was a toddler and now have taken in a small bag with an item or two with nothing said to me about it.
7 days a week
$30.00 we paid.
