One of my favorite parks to take Rover dogs to, as it’s great for beginning hikers with a short, 1.2 mile trail. This is a nice one to use to introduce young kids to hiking as well. The dog park is well-kept and has an awesome pond with a dock for jumping. The astronomy viewing area and farming machinery are great educational resources and the pond offers paddle boats.

Nice dog park. The main feature is the walk in lake for dogs, lots of room, decent amount of shade and seating, a hydrant for water and fully fenced to let you dogs enjoy it.

Beautiful scenery, quiet, peaceful. The dog park has certain hour's it's unlocked

Really nice park! Brought our 6 month old husky there and he loved chasing the other dogs into the huge lake. Wasn't too sure about the water at first, but after seeing the other dogs play in it, he had the time of his life! I have elder beagles who enjoyed the shade from the trees, and they had LOTS of room to walk around. Probably my favorite dog park! And the best part is that there's no membership needed, it's completely free.

There is an app called Rainout Line that will give you park closure updates. St. Charles Co. Parks is really good about keeping it updated.
No. But I've never seen a problem with the dogs in the same area..its very large. The one at Veteren park has seperate areas.
Get the rain out app. St Charles County post open or closed through that.We use it to find out if trails are open
I believe there is a number you can call on the st Charles website. The rain out number. If there has been a lot of rain recently, it'll close in order to better maintain the grounds.
Yes it's has a perimeter fence and 3 entrances. It's about 4 to acres with a pond. There is a large canopy with benches and a place to wash your dog.
No, it's all fish from shore. Trolling motor would be Busch wildlife
I called and was told they are dealing with some sort of mold or fungus in the pond. They aren't sure when the park will reopen. You can download the Rainout Line app and it tells which parks are open or not, this one included
I've been wondering the same thing. We went on the 6th and it was closed. How long will it take!!! 9/15 update: called and they said it had a fence issue but that it takes time for material to come in (drove up there and there is a small hole in fence but that material is at a store.. it's small so it could easily be patched) then they said they had issues with the water. But spoke with another person who said it was tested on 9/8 and it came back as no toxins. Soooo... I don't know what their deal is.
You would have to go through County Park Dept to get that answer
it's open now.
I don't see any reason why not.
According to their website, no children under the age of 8 are allowed inside the dog park.
Naturally is my guess :) .. it was pretty murky and green. But it didn't smell bad and neither did doggo after playing in it. But they do have a clean water station to rinse them off, and I saw someone with shampoo giving their buddy a full bath before they left. We didn't and still no funk after 3 days.
Ooohf, I don't know an exact depth but I think it's between 10-15 ft. I could be wrong and would have to ask a park admin to be sure.
Not that I remember.
I believe it is, but you can check the app to confirm, or call in the morning.
No fees, but please be aware that means no regulations on who can come and go - there might be unvaccinated or aggressive pups (and owners lol) so just be on guard, though I've had few problems and i love it there.
