Great campground, spent my 8th year in a row making the long drive. a couple of years ago it was better with a friendlier host. They took down all of the miniture American flags that were in front of all of the site posts. The host told us that we could not take a walk up site that is "first come, first serve" basically because someone else expressed interest in the unoccupied space. Can't help but to think we were not welcome there for one reason or another, they seemed friendly to everyone else besides my partner & I. There is a sign at the front that says they charge double if you want to occupy the site prior to check in at 2 pm yet monocle lake just down the road that is ran by the same LLC with different hosts does not. Will try again next year but I will probably pass if they have the same host.

I feel like I shouldn't review this place so it stays pretty secluded but everything about this campground was fantastic. Went camping here for 2 nights, no reservations but driving through on a Thursday there were still plenty of spots open. We stayed at camp site #7 and it was amazing. You get enough space between campsites so you actually feel a little more secluded. You're about 50 feet from Superior beach which was all sandy when we went, search for agates elsewhere! For night time, the stars are always amazing and if you look to the east you can see all the lights off in the distance. There are plenty of trees in the area so you can get some fallen wood (please don't knock down trees!) or you can buy firewood by the front gate into the campground. The water pumps worked great and the outhouses were well maintained. If Gilly still works there, say hello to him, he was a great person to meet.

Our campsite was huge and had a path down to the water. The fire pit is enormous. There is a post for hanging things. There is a cabinet with games and beach toys to borrow. It was an amazing place to stay. Spotless and beautiful.

It was the best campsite I've ever had
I found reserving as soon as you can, 6 months in advance to get a lake side site.
Yes
Yes, both. A very clean well maintained campsite
Some will, most will be a challenge for that
#5 has great lake views and #11 and #13 have easy paths to the beach. They are all nice and campground hosts Pat and Kathy Fryer are the best. You can't go wrong.
If you want a guaranteed spot. Otherwise there are a few walk up sites if they aren't taken.
No electricity or Water hook up in park. Rustic. Super clean outhouses. If you want hook up you should try Brimley State Park just down the road from Bayview
Agreed..we stayed there just last week and did not need a state pass
