I spent 70 minutes cleaning up the beach this morning. The dock area of the beach is usually filled with fishing "enthusiasts", and it is plain to see that they not only have no regard for fish but but also for our ocean and environment. * 70 minutes total * 3 large bagfuls (no, I did not throw away the trash in plastic bags. I emptied them into the dumpster.)

No fee to access beach but there is a parking fee. Meter & dashboard ticket system. If I recall correctly it was $2 per hour. EDIT: I saw someone mention residency and I hadn't thought about that. I am Brookhaven resident. Not sure what the protocol is for non-residents. To be fair, last time I went, no one was checking at entry.
