Highly Recommended! Collis P. Huntington State Park is beautiful, expansive, untouched wilderness! A must do! ๐๐ป๐๐ป

We got to the park early at 7.30. The trails are nice and flat. The morning air was cool and crisp making the walk easy and enjoyable. We saw a few people intermittently, even a rider in horseback. But for most parts, you get to enjoy your walk in solitude.

Perfectly manicured paths for walking, dogs and bicycles. Inner loop is about 45 min and maybe 2.3 miles.

Dog friendly, waste bags for dogs, easy hiking trails, and long trails.

Mรกs o menos. You can kayak & canoe on the water. Some have even been seen swimming, but that is rare. I wouldn't swim there, though.
There is a porta-potty
Yes. It's a state park, but there's no entrance fee like Sherwood Island or Indian Wells where CT tags will get you in free.
Not sure? Bringing a grill shouldn't be a problem.
You can get both, with so many ponds and lake in all sorts of shapes and sizes, you can get far from others if you want, and really immerse yourself in nature. Or if you wanna have a short walk, I reccomend going to the Old Dodgingtown Road entrance which has a pond right on the driveway.
It's a bow hunting area only so if you're gonna mushroom hunt make sure you're parking the right equipment those mushrooms move mighty quickly
No guns. Only bow and.arrow in Nov Dec
That's where mrs Huntington kept her tigers. There's a book that has all of the history on the mark Twain library
