Camped here with the family right by the lake. Fishing was great! Cool Halloween decorations that my 5yr old son loved! Clean bathrooms! One of the best state parks in SC!

Nice camping area, convenient store near dock area and great relaxing vibe.
1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 are the best waterfront to to not have do to much walking buts sites 13, 15, 17, and 19 aren't terrible either just a bit of an incline at the sites
Not sure but the original campground is wonderful. I wouldn't recommend stay in the new sites. They are crammed together. We just stayed Friday until Today. Wonderful and peaceful.
There are no cabins. You do not necessarily need an rv, I have seen a lot of tent camping. There are 2 campgrounds, the Riverside, which is closer to the lake with plenty of shade, and a new one called Taylor Creek, which is not shaded, and still under construction. https://reserve.southcarolinaparks.com/lake-wateree
The park is beautiful but it just dont have a pool or internet and the price is very reasonable other then that its just fine just not a lot a lot kids can do there
You can fish in multiple areas around the campsites and the office/store/boat ramp and dock. There is a spot between some campsites where you can too and you can walk to the west side of the island thru the woods and fish also.
There are some in the lake. Mostly seen in the upper part if the lake. But dont be surprised if you see them anywhere in the lake. Especially where there is low traffic of activities.
There are actually two picnic pads off from all of the others but you would have a wooded area that makes it more private. They are also walking distance to the store and play ground. I think you have to reserve those two but the others are included in the $2 parking fee.
