Absolutely enjoyed this hike! Though it's definitely not for the faint of heart. Schunnemunk has many inclines and tricky terrain to descend. If you're up for the challenge then I highly recommend this trail!

Hiking trails only, to the best of my knowledge
No swimming at all.
just hiking
No cooking...but parking is free. Small, but free.
You dont need a pass. Nor is this a national park
The yellow trail is by far the most gradual but is definitely the longest. I find the white trail the best way up. The black trail is very steep in places. Remember going down is always more dangerous than going up. BRING A MAP WITH YOU. You can download one for free. I would give yourself at least 3 hours for this hike. You should alot at least 2 liters of water per person especially on a day like today. Make sure you wear proper footwear, hard soles and something covering your toes. Avoid wearing cotton and wear dry weave clothing and synthetic socks. Cotton acts like a sponge, no beuno. Bring some high energy snacks. With that said my youngest son did this hike at age 6 so have fun and enjoy the day. Wildlife is in the area, i.e. bears, bobcat, coyotes, and timber rattlesnakes, so be aware but you shouldn't really run into them. They tend to know you are coming way before you notice them and move away.
The tops of the ridge line are From 1664 To 1386 And quite a few in betwee
