This place is a disgrace!! Me and my 3 kids were there for a month until getting kicked out because I defended myself to a male cleaning worker with freedom of speech after being disrespected. They have roaches the size of mice and mice the size of rats. I had a mouse eat my clothes and one run across my head on night. The staff in TERRIBLE there is no compassion they are rude ignorant. You ask for anything including your medicine they huff and puff like they're there just to be on they're phones. There's staff having relationships with clients. There's racism and there's favoritism for sure!! I would prefer any shelter in Philadelphia over WOODSTOCK

Is this supposed to be a shelter, shelters should understanding compassionate and kind to residents that live the building but instead it’s filled with people who look down on the homeless, and make it hard for them to be able to get in their feet. They didn’t ask to be there but they are there anyway cuz there’s no where else to go but for the residents in the building to be treated the way they are treated is wrong and people that work there should be removed. It’s no way that the staff mess with or belittle individuals that live there and their children

Witness staff pick on the residents in the building saying they were gonna pull a woman by her hair, policies aren’t consistent, was told different things about rules. Washing machines are broken so you can’t wash clothes.

As you know Woodstock is a family shelter we do not take walk-ins you would have to go to apple tree that's at 1430 Cherry Street is open Monday through Friday I believe 7 to 4 I hope this help
At this site we do not take walk-ins families have to go to Appletree, at 1430 Cherry Street
Depends on where someone falls an what the city calls the venerabllity scale times what is available. With that being said one can be there 3 months or 18+ months. You aren't given a guarantee of what time you will be housed.
No weekend passes, unless approved by the director with the proper paperwork, or its a holiday. For example, Thanksgiving and Christmas, 2 day passes were given out.
@syreeta you have to goto 1430 cherry st to get placed into any shelters in Philadelphia, take you and your kids down there, the process won't be easy but you wont be on the street, when you get to the front door the security will search whatever bags you have on you(it's ok let them they will give you your bags rite back, put your pride to the side dont be embarrassed or fell bad, it's no time for that the mission is to get you and your children some where clean and safe so you can get on your feet)goto the Window they are going to ask for id and birth certificates and ect.(dont be nervous) leagally the have to help you even if you dont have all the documents, you have to be strong and assertive while talking to them because if they think you dont really need help or that you have a second option they will try to turn you away) constantly let them know you have no options, you will stay there until 4:30 while they are processing your information, then you will goto the salvation army
Yes Woodstock accepts families but we do not take walk-ins you would have to go to Appletree that's at 1430 Cherry Street no you have to have children to come to Woodstock
