i am experiencing a very sharp pain with numbness in my left hip since years. I had made sure that my appointment with Dr.Byrd himself because he is the best hip specialist in the area. But unfortunately after i checked into the exam room a nurse practitioner came. she recommended some pain relief gell and scheduled me for next appointment for a therapy. The next visit i had the therpay session and after that they checked me again with the same nurse practitioner. I fact, this visit was about 2 months ago. Anyway, i couldn't see Dr.Byrd and nothing changed in my hip. She recommended only physical therapy sessions at different place close to my place. The staff at the front desk were helpful and caring.

I was referred to Nashville Hip Institute from my Dr. in Florida. They setup the scheduling in such a way that is was all set for 1 day in the office. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The office ran more efficiently than I could have hoped for. What they said could take all day only took a few hours! Dr. Byrd should be extremely proud of his staff. Dr. Byrd himself was great! He took all the time I needed to clearly explain, in terms I can understand, exactly what was going on and what options for treatment I have. Easily, one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had at a doctors office!

Had an appointment for 6:30am and got a few email reminders to be here 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Got here at 6am and they weren’t even open. Staff arrived around 6:30 (time of our appointment) and we just sat for about 10 minutes. Finally I asked about paperwork to fill out and they said they would get it once they pulled her chart out? I know doctors offices sometimes run late with patients but we were the only ones here and I hate having my time wasted. Update* I posted this review some time ago and really wish I could leave a better experience but unlike a lot of people here myself and my daughter just did not have a good experience and the process has been fairly lengthy. She was diagnosed with a torn labrum and did the physical therapy that followed. Surgery was a possibility provided the PT did not alleviate the pain and heal the tear. After numerous sessions of PT and follow-up appointments she did need surgery. She scheduled her surgery and paid her deposit at the end of September. All of the appointments filled her deductible so we were able to encumber the financial costs of the surgery now that insurance would pay their share. We get a call from the NHI on Monday, November 29th telling us there was a mistake and the surgery center they booked was out of network and would not be covered by insurance. Her surgery date was December 17th, and we were told that they would be in network as of January 1st. This would mean that her insurance deductible would be reset and she would now encumber thousands of dollars in medical costs. We drove to NHI the following day to get the surgery rescheduled to an in-network surgery center before years end and that was also a waste of time. They for the most part were kind but not helpful whatsoever. They could not give us a definitive yes or no about rescheduling the surgery before years end and referred us to call the office to talk to a lady that wasn't there because she was sick. Today, December 1st, two weeks before her scheduled surgery and 30 days before the end of the year, they tell us they cannot get it scheduled before the end of the month. Now we are left with little to no options and face a tremendous financial burden to get her the proper healthcare. The right thing to do since they made the mistake would be to pay the insurance portion of the surgery center since they made the mistake but that didn't happen, they expect us to pay for their mistake.

Really helped me out. Ken is a PT guy with a wealth of knowledge. Great experience.

Jerry, thank you for reaching out. Dr. Byrd does not perform robotic-assisted joint replacements, but his partner, Dr. Alex Brown, does. Please contact our office if you would like more information.
Patty, thank you for your question. Here is a list of hotels close to our location: https://nashvillehip.org/out-of-town-patients/. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
We would love to talk to you about that. Please call our office and ask for our patient intake coordinator, Morgan Bivens.
