Great campground in the Francis Marion National Forest... Only 10-15 sites right on the water in the middle of nowhere but still only 30 minutes from Charleston SC. Electric and water at every site, boat launch, fishing pier, lots of shade, huge sites.

I cant speak for the camping but the waterway and grounds in general are beautiful! Loved my time here! ADD: Just visited again 5/10/22, the water is higher and the flowers are in bloom. Beautiful place and out of the hustle and bustle to camp! If nothing else visit the waterway and take a few pictures while passing by! If you have a boat great place to launch!

This place is a tranquil spot on rte 17 between Mt. Pleasant and Georgetown. It's a boat landing and a campground. Not only that, it is on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Best to book online through Recreation.gov. Tent sites available. Careful...water does go over the bank during flood times. Most weekends are totally booked. Annual and Lifetime Passes accepted.

Very nice campground!! It is close to a lot of wildlife viewing sites. Being on the waterway was wonderful! I saw a lot of birds and dolphins. The shower was ok and truth be told I am glad there was one!! I will be back just not in July, it was very hot in my tent lol! Oh yeah, put up your food because the squirrels got my banana and trail mix out of a zipped lunch bag!

It's due to a lack of state funding... They do the best with what they have... I'd say just be thankful that they haven't closed it down... And at any rate, you're going camping people!
There are two buildings that have restrooms. Last year we went and had a closure notice as well but only the restroom at the boat landing was closed.
There is a row of parking spots next to the open area for tents. There are designated tent lots. The distance is close but I'm not a good guess of distance, maybe 50 feet. The parking spots are regular car size so you wouldn't be able to fit the truck and boat in one spot and there are only enough parking spots for for the number of campsites, maybe one or two extra. I don't know if there is another option of where to park your boat aside from getting a regular RV site.
It's 28 dollars for electric hook-up spots and 20 dollars a day for non electric (tent) spots. I think that's year round. I believe you can only stay for 2 weeks each month.
20@day as far as I know, you might be able to strike a deal with the ranger since your staying so long.
I believe we paid approximately $32 per day.
No
There is no WiFi.
It's Open now ,I was their Tues of last week people are camping out their now .
No idea but it's rather pricey
Yes. They are about 50 yards from the ramp.
(877) 444-6777 or recreation.gov is the Forest Service / federal reservation system.
Check in after 3:00pm, check out before 11:00am.
You can contact McClellaville SC forest department.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no dump fee above the camping fees. If you are looking to bring in an rv, not camp but just dump, you may need to call directly at 843-336-2200.
Wasn't last week.
Whoever said no launch fee is an idiot. $5 per day. I cannot recall the annual, but im thinking around $100
Recreation.gov. It would be under Shelter
Camping fees can be paid in cash at the fee station on Buck Hall Landing Rd or online, where you can reserve the tent or camper sites that allow it. Unfortunately, I don't know what the URL is, but you should be able to find it doing a Google search for "Forest Service Campground reservations" or similar. If you are asked which USFS it's in, use "Francis Marion National Forest".
