First make sure you have reservations. We got seated very quickly when we came through the door. You can also make recommendations when you reserve too like ask for a window seat. Secondly, the menu is very short. There used to be a big selection, not anymore. Service was okay, could be a lot better. Prices have gone up, $37.00 filet steak, side, and salad. The croissants have changed. So much better. However, you don't get side butter anymore. House salad, 🙄 needs more toppings. You barely get tomatoes. The famous chicken tenders, the first batch was okay. The second batch, tasted like seafood and was over cooked. Will I come back again. Absolutely not. Over-priced meals, the bathroom was disgusting. Feet sticking to the floor as you walk through. Very disappointed, not the place I remember.

We had a 45 minute wait, but it was well worth it. The food was absolutely delicious. The view is amazing. The staff was very courteous and professional.

I really wanted to enjoy this but it is missing just a few things to put it over the top. California Dreaming is an American restaurant located in Charleston. I’m not sure why the restaurant has this name when nothing on the menu makes me think of CA. Expect your typical steak, chicken, and seafood staples. The small menu and high prices perhaps set my expectations a little too high. The location and building is absolutely gorgeous and that alone is worth stopping in for a drink. The menu flavors are salt, butter, and honey and lacking in inspiration. I understand the prices need to pay for the premium real estate, but perhaps a new head chef could to turn this place into a landmark. The service was good although there was a long wait time for a restaurant at half capacity. Parking is good and it is easily accessible. There were no covid restrictions at the time of this writing. A one and done for tourists as the locals know better.

The location appears to be on a piece of land on a peninsula, and with the all around glass windows, looking out on the water makes for a great atmosphere. As for the food, the bread was light, honeyed, and amazing. The chutney and pimento cheese appetizer was a blend of flavors your taste buds didn't know you'd missed. And the blackened chicken pasta was tasty and filling. Our server was extremely polite and funny too!

Called 45 minutes ahead, still had to wait. They stated you have to call 15 minutes ahead.....
I've been going for over 30 yrs and they have never had specials. All of their food is good. They have fish on the menu.
I go to California Dreaming for Their Baby Back Ribs. They are Danish in origin, which the best rib restaurants serve. For sea food there are many Charleston Restaurants who specialize in sea food like 82 Queen.
They have imports - peroni, corona extra, windhoek, heinken. Local beer - carling, castle, flying fish, and hansa. On taps - stella artois, castle lite, heineken, and windhoek lager. Local craft beers - the bird lager, butcher black ale, kings blockhouse IPA, jack lager, and devils peak pale ale.
Honestly it depends on the current Chef at the moment, but to answer your question yes they are able to accommodate your gluten free needs per request
Only service animals
We have had work parties there before with that many. Called a few weeks out to setup.
Yes they do
Everyone had on masks the servers, even those working in the Kitchen.
Their tables are set up at 50% capacity.
Not sure was in the area for the docks
Not sure either. Call the restaurant.
There is a handicap entrance at the left side.
Yes you can give it to the host when you come in and they will put it in the back fridge... ask your server for it when your ready...
No they don't deliver, Try going to Uber eats and they might deliver from them
They dont have a closed off section or table clothes to my knowladge. If its a slow night however they might be able to work with you let you have your own corner for the night.
Yes, they do.
There is no happy hour. Drink prices are very reasonable, and this is why CD does not do a happy hour.
Salads are great and very large portion.
I contacted them through Facebook messenger and they said they will not be open on Thursday. They also said that they would update their Facebook page to let people know when they would be back open.
