This was our second dinner at Hopscotch & Vine. Both times have been excellent. The Mother's Day dinner menu featured plenty of options and everything was delicious. They did run low on a few items since we were the last reservation of the evening, but they provided generous substitutions. We will be back!

Went for the Mother’s Day brunch and was not impressed for the price we paid. Decor was beautiful but overall food was luke warm and some of it had absolutely no flavor. I understand our waiter was new but he had no idea what he was doing. We ordered 2 salads and he brought something extra and was oh well idk. I also asked him once the kids grilled cheese was done if he would bring it, that was the last thing to the table and the fries were the hottest item we had. Glad we tried it but I don’t think we will be back.

Wonderful local restaurant. Great food and beautiful atmosphere. I love how this location is decorated. Very cute. The wait staff is kind and engaging. They have a huge wine selection on the menu. I love their salmon as well as their fish and chips. Both are yummy.

I celebrated a special occasion here last month right when they reopened after remodeling. It was the perfect choice! 𝔻𝔼ℂ𝕆ℝ/𝔸𝕋𝕄𝕆𝕊ℙℍ𝔼ℝ𝔼 Our server said everything was new inside, and the decor definitely was part of the elegant experience. When you sit down at the table with the fancy plates already set on it, matching the napkins rolled into the silver ring holders, with a vase of flowers, and the whole table lit by candlelight, you just felt like you were celebrating a special night. I made reservations for two, so we got right in and were seated in the back dining room. The long, built-in fireplace runs along one side of the room above seated patrons, while a wall of richly framed mirrors covers the upper half of the other side, reflecting the light given off by the fancy crystal chandeliers above. Most of the tables in that room are booth seat on the wall sides and chairs on the opposite. The booth is the style where the bench runs the entire length of the wall for all the tables, so I appreciated the extra room for my bags! 𝕄𝔼ℕ𝕌 Their food menu is currently a plastic sheet, which the staff said is easy to wipe off. Our server left a tablet device on our table for us to look at before we ordered that had their large drink menu of wine, cocktails, and beer. The few desserts were also listed on the tablet in their own menu tab. I assumed she would take it after we ordered to give to other patrons, so rather than have to ask for it back or wait for it, I took a picture with my phone of the tablet's screen with the other drinks I was considering on it, so I would not forget their names or ingredients. 𝕊𝔼ℝ𝕍𝕀ℂ𝔼 Our server, Amanda, was kind and attentive, even with as crowded as HopScotch & Vine was on the Saturday night. She asked if we wanted an appetizer soon after we were seated, but I had only perused the tablet drink menu thus far, and she said there was no rush, as she was there until 11pm. She checked back in with us frequently, asking how we liked every dish and cocktail. 𝔸ℙℙ𝔼𝕋𝕀ℤ𝔼ℝ For our appetizer, we had the Stuffed Mushrooms, which we ordered at the same time as dinner, since we were ready to order both by then. Amanda said she would hold our dinner order until after the appetizer, which I appreciated being able to take my time and enjoy it without dinner coming too fast – but we were not waiting excessively long for our meal either; this server timed turning our dinner order in perfectly! The Stuffed Mushrooms were actually my favorite dish of the night. They were very flavorful and packed full of the herbed cream cheese, not too mention served so hot that even after taking a few pics, they were still burning your mouth! I told our server that I am normally a dip/sauce person, but they were so tasty that I could eat them alone. Amanda made sure to inform me though that the sauce is meant to compliment them, which she is absolutely right. The hint of sweet in the chili Thai dipping sauce was the perfect pair to the battered and fried appetizer. 𝔻𝕀ℕℕ𝔼ℝ I ordered Chicken Piccata, which came with roasted veggies and risotto. It was prepared and presented nicely, but I will say it was a different flavor than any chicken piccata I have ever had before. My husband had Chicken Parmesan and agreed with me on my meal's assessment, saying it was delicious but light-flavored. It was a refreshing change, though, to have these two common dishes prepared a little differently to taste. ℂ𝕆ℂ𝕂𝕋𝔸𝕀𝕃𝕊 My first drink was my favorite, the Champagne Cosmo, although it was served in a small coupe glass, leaving me wanting more of the refreshing bubbly beverage! I ended with the HopScotch Old Fashioned. 𝕃𝕆ℂ𝔸𝕋𝕀𝕆ℕ There is parallel street parking on the same street that the restaurant is located on (Lockport St), as well as angled street parking on the nearest cross streets. Another option is public parking lots located to the north on the streets perpendicular to the restaurant's, about a block or two walk.
