I know this dude. He works for a restaurant called Dig inn on the (UWS) Upper West Side. I was told by the manager he got his his card bought. He paid someone, a citizen to get his green card. Is that legal? This is what the manager said to me

This is NYC! Countless people every day enter into fraudulent marriages to obtain legal status. I've known quite a few. The plurality of which were actually of Russian origin. It's LITERALLY their only option if they want to obtain permanent residence (aka green card). People always talk about "getting in back of the line." WHAT LINE??? The Visa renewal line? That's for temporary stay. There is no path to permanent residency without any kin to sponsor you.
