You can take cool forums of the city from Central Park, in different views and different backgrounds. The park is always open. It is recommended not to visit it too late. On the site there is food for sale in carts, typical New York food, hit dogs, hamburgers, fries, etc. Look for one that is and looks hygienic and there will be no problem. A meal can cost from $3 to $4 depending on what and how much you want to eat. Admission is always free.

There are NYS DOH rules prohibiting the eating of fish from the E River. I am unsure if you can catch and release. This a State Park, so NYS rules would apply.

The park is in long island city. You can take the train to vernon-blvd just next stop from hunters point in the 7 train.

Parking is getting much harder as people discover this gem of a neighborhood.
