Elizabeth is fulfilling her calling to heal hurting bodies. She is also a caring listener, so maybe she’s a mind healer too if one is in need! She stayed late to work me in, and gave careful attention to the issues I’m having with my back and, in particular, my left shoulder. Something I very much appreciate is that Elizabeth is careful not to perform any work that is hurtful or harmful both during the session as well as the following day. She seeks to accomplish this by asking that you let her know when there is any sensation that is beyond what I call the “good hurt.” I didn’t hesitate to do so and because of her consideration I awoke this morning with a pain-free left shoulder. Even though I only come to Black Mountain each month, I look forward to establishing regular visits. Thank you Elizabeth! 😍t

Elizabeth is an amazing person and masseuse. I went in for a massage to simply relax, but she noticed that one of my shoulders was not moving correctly. She used multiple techniques to free it up. Afterward, my shoulder had full range of motion, and other areas of my back began to free up as well. This has truly changed my life. Elizabeth is a God send, and her place is simply beautiful. That's an important question, thanks for asking! The majority of the time Elizabeth uses organic first cold-pressed Jojoba. If you have sensitivities to jojoba or any kind of nut oils, please let Elizabeth know before your appointment or feel free to bring your favorite product. She uses unscented detergent with bleach or unscented OxiClean on her sheets to protect her most sensitive clients.
No. If you plan on wearing clothes, that is fine, plan to wear comfortable stretchy clothes though. If you prefer to disrobe Elizabeth prefers people to keep on their underwear. Most modalities of treatment can be modified for being clothed.
There is no way to tell how many sessions a person will need to feel better. The answer is different for each person that comes into the door. Usually, people will know within a session or two, but that is not always the case. The only true way to know is to come in and see the results for yourself.
Great Question! Yes, regardless of what the massage modality is, Elizabeth will give your body a customized treatment. A single treatment may include a variety of massage and bodywork modalities with an emphasis on the original technique asked for. Elizabeth put a strong emphasis on efficiency within a bodywork session and will give a person’s body what it needs as it needs it.
Most people who are new to Illumina Sky Healing Arts may not know which treatment is best for them. Elizabeth welcomes calls and emails for those who are seeking clarity about treatment options. If a new client is booking online, simply book themselves in for a muscle-specific Swedish and put in the notes that you would like to discuss treatment options the day of your appointment. Often Elizabeth will not know what needs to be done until a client is on the table and she is actively assessing the situation within the body. The only 3 massage techniques Elizabeth would like to know about ahead of time are the Hot Stone Massage, Thai Massage, and medicuppng. These are the only treatments that require a special set up and break down.
