I am sure they are trying their best, or at least really hope they are, but I would not take a loved one here for any emergencies. I had my niece with an anaphylaxis allergic reaction here as well as another family member with severe fracture of the arm, and both times had incredibly terrible wait time, over 10 hours... they put my family member on the "fast track", to be seen faster. I don't know what goes on in emergency rooms so I can only complain... but if fast track takes more than 10 hours until an emergency patient can be seen, then regularly seen emergency patients might probably pass before being seen... I really don't recommend this center for any true emergencies.

Took my child to this emergency room because My child had a fever above 104. It’s crazy because I hate the NICU staffs at this hospital . When seeing by the doctor without any blood testing she said that my child maybe had a viral infection . My child was given Tylenol and was sent home . I’m extremely disappointed because my child still has a fever. The prescribed medication is not working !

DO NOT EVER EVER EVER go to this ER, not unless you’re unconscious or in cardiac arrest. I went to this ER for abdominal pain where a ct scan revealed a mass on my colon. I was left in the ER for 24 hours straight in the hallway and my father wasn’t even allowed to come and be with me considering the horrid news I just received. Traumatized is not the word! I was alone and scared for my life and I didn’t even have a soul to console. If you’re looking for compassion, warmth and personalized care go elsewhere.

If I could put less in the ER for adults, I would give them less. You arrive with high blood pressure and they don't treat you. And which one I say high is high 188/115 And the nurses at the door don't help you at all

I would not put your relative in this hospital !!! A relative of ours went to the emergency room for a self-evaluation and was admitted into the psych ward. We got word that he was in the emergency room and drove up from Virginia because we were the only next of kin available. As soon as we arrived we found out the visiting our times and visited him one day and left all of our vital information for the medical staff to contact us in case there was a change or any other decisions needed to be made . Call the next day to ensure everything was OK and was told he would not be discharged that day at all. Showed up that evening to visit with him and found that they had discharged him and put him out on the street homeless . No one on the staff called or even tried to get in contact with us to let us know his status until we showed up at the hospital and found he was discharged . This unit handled the situation very poorly !! Now my family member is walking the streets.

My Neurosurgeon is Dr. George Kaptian, he is part of North Jersey Brain and Spine. He has an office at the hospital complex in Hackensack. He is a fabulous Dr., very kind and works well with his patients. I would make a call and make an appointment to discuss with him.
It is supposed to be a top notch facility. You can check out their web site at: http://www.hackensackumc.org/services/cancer-care/ Or check reviews posted by patients or relatives of patients.: https://g.co/kgs/vp17c9

They accept most insurances like Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurances. But if you are going to see a specific doctor be sure to find out if they participate with your insurance when you make an appointment.
