I have been a member at this church for over ten years. In the last few years, the church has expanded to two other locations at high schools in Fairfax and Herndon to accommodate growing membership with a static location footprint at McLean. Services three times at McLean (two morning and one evening) combine a mixed music style (contemporary in the evening), traditional Presbyterian liturgy, and sermon series largely on topical themes or books of the Bible. The church follows reformed theology consistent with their affiliation with the Presbyterian Church in America, so teaching may have differences with other presbyterian denominations such as the Presbyterian Church USA or the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The church has had a few senior pastors in the time I have attended. Various community groups exist for those in different areas in the region or different life stages. Care ministries offer support for people experiencing any kind of personal challenges. Missions work inspires not only sponsoring long-term missionaries but also short-term mission trips to a number of different places in the world. Christian education for adults has been recently rebranded and themed through new classes offered at all three locations. All in all this church incorporates solid theology with an emphasis on community.

There’s a lot to love about this church. The staff is amazing. Consistently fabulous pastors and good preaching. However, the young adult ministry feels quite cliquey, so it can be hard to feel part of the church as a young adult due to this.

Hello Gale! MPC partners with Reformed Theological Seminary DC to host classes at the church building. You can learn more about them at https://rts.edu/campuses/washington-dc/
They use hymns, too. I find their services quite worshipful when i have visited, when i am in DC.
