Like others have mentioned, this can be a good spot for launching kayaks or canoes, and is also a good spot for a family gathering or picnic. The trail goes back into Lyons, but is a pretty short distance.

Its quiet and serene when it's just you sitting by the edge of the water. However, it's also a quaint little space for family barbecues or picnic lunch with friends. If you enjoy walks you'll love the the Empire trailway. Covered by beautiful trees and plenty of benches along the cemented trail.
