This is the only school you should consider if you are trying to get licensed in VA! After wasting the better part of a year with another school, I attended Paco's class and the difference was night and day. I can't recommend Contractor Exam Preparation and Paco enough!

Just took the HIC class on 16Aug22 and tested out the 17Aug22. Knocked the test out of the park. Paco, was an amazing instructor. I went through a separate company paid $1500+ for books $300 for training and failed but took Paco’s class and it was super easy to pass. I was able to pass by using what was included in the package with this company. He went through all relevant information and taught me things I didn’t know or understand!! Highly recommend this prep course. Thank you!! Just for information on the lowest reviews. Yes you park in a paid lot but Paco gives out paid parking pass in class. There is a class room and who cares if he wore flip flops. Customer service is great too. I have called several times before and after I took the course and I never received bad service. Will use this service again. Thank you!!

I have been a contractor for 12yrs. and needed to upgrade my contractors license from class C to A. I attempted to accomplish this using an online program a few years ago going through hours and hours of study and testing accomplishing nothing. Searching on line for help an advertisement said almost 100% success rate. I thought there is no way they can make that claim, but the on line reviews gave me some hope. As our class began the instructor (Paco) encouraged us to relax and learn what he was about to show us. As I followed his instructions I started to see the pattern and embraced it. Most classed bore me, but this one challenged and trained me for upcoming test. When the test day came I had done everything I was instructed to do. I was able to finish my tests with time to spare. The class was money well spent. Thanks Paco! I will be sending others to you in the future.

Fantastic Experience with the class, Paco is a great instructor that helped me learn how to take tests in a different way. The Instruction was clear and it made passing my HIC test seem simple. Definitely the best money I have spent in a long time.

Yes, we prepare contractors for various exams. The test/exam administrator for both Virginia and Maryland is the company, PSI Exams. Their website is www.psiexams.com. You must schedule your exams through them at their locations. They have locations in both Virginia and Maryland. All of our courses are just one session, just afternoon or evening, either 3 1/2 or 4 1/2 hours, with the exception of a mandatory 8-hour course. The cost will vary, based upon which course(s) you would like to take. We've included a link that shares the steps that you'll need to take to get licensed in Virginia and another for Maryland. You'll be able to determine your cost to get licensed too. https://www.contractorexampreparation.com/how-to-get-your-virginia-contractor-license/ https://www.contractorexampreparation.com/how-to-get-your-mhic-contractor-license/ The process can vary from a few weeks or much longer.

A Virginia Contractor License has two parts, the class of license and the specialty. The class of license, Class A, Class B, and Class C determines two things: 1) the monetary size of the projects the license holder can do and 2) the gross income per year. (With a Class C license, you can do projects up to $9,999 and for the year have a gross income of $150,000.) The specialty determines the types of projects you are licensed to perform. Residential work is a specialty. Commercial work is another. If you do both residential and commercial projects, you will need both specialties. The general residential specialties are the HIC and the RBC. The two general commercial specialties are the CIC and the CBC. You can have a Class C license with both residential and commercial specialties, but it will limit your income based on the maximum size of projects allowed and the maximum yearly gross permitted. We hope that this answer is helpful. Thank you for contacting us.
