This place is ridiculous! Nobody picks up the phone, no other way to check the status update! The case is WAY past their processing time limits and the girl at the general info dep is no different from the robot! She just keeps repeating herself without listening to you! This place is ridiculous!

This government agency is absolutely ridiculous. My review is on par with everyone else’s here. It is unacceptable to keep using COVID as an excuse! I need to authenticate my daughters birth certificate as we are living abroad in order to obtain health insurance and a residency visa for her! It’s been more than a month and each time I call no one answers and stay on hold for 1 hour or more and when you reach out to general information they are no help.

Doesn't have any electronic or internet section to check on the status of documents. Also doesn't have an email or online contact method available. The only option is to call and if you don't call before 12pm you will not get through. I sat for 2 hours from 1pm to 3pm yesterday. A word of advice: don't call them unless you can call early in the morning (8/9am) and have 3-4 hours of time to spend waiting.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/internl-judicial-asst/authentications-and-apostilles/requesting-authentication-services.html The above link provides the info you're looking for, including a link to the request form you'll need to complete and send in along with your document. This method takes about 2-3 weeks. There are people you can use to get it done quicker, but it will cost you significantly more. The only other option is to go in person, but that requires a true urgent situation... and a trip to Washington D.C. I hope this helps, best of luck!
Hi, you can use one of the firms providing apostile/authentication services. I'd email more than one to get quotes first. Then, and when you choose one of them, you can mail them the document and they'll process it on your behalf. Most of these firms accept payment of their fees either online or through PayPal.
..as recent as June 2018 it was $8.00
you have to mail it to the office of the great seal
$100 usd
