The water is safe in the designated areas but I don't know how much the boat services are sorry
I don't know of sailboat rentals either. Seemed like only motor/fisherman people when i was there in December. Salt Springs rented nice pontoon boats which will make it down the river to lake George and back, but that's about it. They also rent kayaks for tooling around looking at manatees.
