If you meant New York City, you can take the Path Train to either 33rd Street or World Trade Center. No commuter rail trains go to New York Penn Station from Hoboken terminal. You would have to take it to Secaucus Junction and transfer upstairs for the Trains to New York Penn Station.

There are NJ Transit trains that go from Hoboken to Penn Station Newark but they are less frequent. There are also PATH trains that go from Hoboken to Penn Station Newark but they require switching trains. Your best bet would be to get off your Pascack Valley train at Secaucus Junction and then switch to a Penn Station Newark train. Will be quicker and more direct and there will be plenty of trains that leave Secaucus Junction with Penb Station Newark as first stop.

Metro North DOES operate from Hoboken. Pascack Valley and Port Jervis originate in Hoboken and terminate in New York State.
