Really nice staff both at check in and in the morning. Love that the check out time is noon. We often arrive late after driving to Wausau after work as we make our way to visit relatives in Hurley, WI (we live in Milwaukee). Being able to sleep in and relax and swim in the morning is wonderful. Would've given a 5 star rating but the water in the pool was really cold and the hot tub was only luke warm. We swam, but our lips turned blue. haha. If the pool would've been warmer, and if the hot tub would've been hot it would have been a perfect stay.

Positive: The bathroom and the fact that lots of dogs were there. This is a very good option if you have a dog. I would stay elsewhere if you do not. Negative: The room is half renovated. The bathroom area has recently been updated, but not the bed, desk area. It is like a tale of two rooms. the outside of the hotel is unkept. No on cares for the landscaping or parking lot. My wife was not happy.

La Quinta Inn in Wausau Wisconsin was one of THE BEST experiences we've had at a hotel EVER. They were able to book us a room very last minute and were able to accommodate our dog as well, they are very straight forward with pet fees and were one of the few TRUE dog friendly hotels we could find that didn't have hidden rules. The rooms were very clean and so were the pool and hot tub! This hotel has got it going on with it's awesome location, cleanliness, and the AMAZING STAFF (Thank you Joe, Nick, Buck, Kat, Susan, and Therese) it was so refreshing to see their smiling faces and having friendly conversations as we would pass.. it truly is the little things that make it SOO much better. This hotel is going to be our go to when we make our trips up there and I think it should be yours too!!

They were clean. Nothing much to the rooms. Beds were extremely firm though. Had to fight with the smart TV.
